Cookie Policy

Last updated: June 10, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Klingobanana uses cookies and similar technologies on https://klingobanana.com. We keep our cookie use to an absolute minimum: we only use cookies that are strictly necessary for the platform to function. We do not use cookies for advertising, behavioural tracking, or third-party analytics.

By using the platform, you consent to the use of the essential cookies described in this policy. If you do not want us to use essential cookies, you should not use the platform, as blocking them will prevent sign-in and authenticated functionality from working correctly.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites and applications work efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the operators of the site.

Cookies can be “session cookies” (which expire when you close your browser) or “persistent cookies” (which remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them). They can also be “first-party cookies” (set by the website you are visiting) or “third-party cookies” (set by a domain other than the one you are visiting, typically by a service integrated into the page).

Similar technologies that function like cookies include localStorage and sessionStorage (browser storage mechanisms) and certain kinds of HTTP headers. Where we refer to “cookies” in this policy, we mean cookies and similar local storage technologies collectively.

2. How We Use Cookies

We use only one category of cookie on the Klingobanana platform: essential authentication cookies. These are strictly necessary for the platform to function and cannot be disabled without breaking sign-in.

Specifically, we use the following essential cookie:

  • __session — set by Firebase Authentication (Google). This cookie stores your encrypted session token, which allows our servers to verify your identity on each request. Without this cookie, you cannot sign in or access any authenticated feature of the platform. The cookie is a first-party session cookie and expires when your session ends or when you sign out. It contains no personally identifiable information beyond the encrypted session token.

We do not use analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics), advertising or retargeting cookies, social media cookies, or any other non-essential cookies. We have no intention of introducing non-essential cookies without updating this policy and, where required by applicable law, obtaining your prior consent.

3. Third-Party Cookies

In most cases, using the Klingobanana platform will not result in any third-party cookies being stored on your device. However, when you make a payment, you are redirected to or interact with a Stripe-hosted payment page. Stripe may set its own cookies during the checkout flow for the purposes of fraud prevention and to maintain session state during payment processing.

Stripe’s cookies are governed by Stripe’s own cookie and privacy policies, which are separate from ours. We have no control over the cookies set by Stripe. Stripe’s privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

Apart from the Stripe checkout flow, we do not load third-party scripts or pixels that set cookies without your knowledge.

4. Managing Cookies

You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies. The instructions for doing so vary by browser; please refer to your browser’s help documentation:

  • Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data

Please be aware that blocking or deleting the essential authentication cookie (__session) will prevent you from signing in to the platform and will break all authenticated functionality. The platform is not usable without this cookie.

If you wish to manage Stripe’s cookies, you should do so through Stripe’s own cookie settings or your browser settings. Blocking Stripe’s cookies during checkout may affect the payment process.

5. Changes

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. If we introduce new categories of cookies or change how we use existing ones in a material way, we will update this policy and notify you by email or through an in-app notice before the changes take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the current version.

Our commitment is to keep our cookie use minimal and transparent. We do not plan to introduce non-essential cookies without first seeking your informed consent where required by applicable law.
